Mary D. Granger

Mary D. Granger

Mary was the gracious, cooperative, hardworking Recording Secretary of the PBKNCA Board from 2005-2010.

Greece, NY - Mary Granger died Thursday, January 24, 2019 in San Francisco, CA. She embodied the usual contradictions of the human condition: generous but sometimes selfish, loving but occasionally petty, adventurous but staid, optimistic but wry. Still, as with all people who are well loved, she was far more often on the positive side of those divides. And understanding her own contradictions made her more forgiving of others. If you would measure her life, consider the loyalty and genuine affection of the many friends she made and kept in all the places she called home. Or consider the countless ways she made a positive impact on her community as a donor, as an advocate. Mary is sorely missed by those who called her wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, friend, hiking buddy, or supporter.

The family requests no cards or flowers. These are no substitute for the life that was lost. Instead, honor her life. Be enthusiastic and celebrate your milestones. Cherish your family and friends. Pay extra attention to your pets. Donate time or money to a cause that inspires you. Become an organ donor. Vote. Send someone a real card that you sign with a pen. Keep learning and growing. Accept people for who they are. Forgive. Live.
